2nd Meeting of the Steering Group of PA 8

The 2nd Meeting of the Steering Group for Priority Area 8 of the EUSDR took place in Bucharest, at Haus der Donau, on December 5-6, 2011, with the participation of the European Commission, officials from 10 riparian countries: Austria, Bulgaria, the Check Republic, Croatia, Germany, the Republic of Moldova, Serbia, Hungary and Romania, as well as representatives of the academic and business environments.
Following the debates, it was concluded that there is a great interest in participating in the PA 8 covering the support of competitiveness of enterprises. The participants presented some concrete projects related to the above mentioned field of activity and expressed their intention to build a solid cooperation with all the stakeholders involved in order to achieve a successful implementation of the EUSDR. These projects should be collected and preliminary examined by the next SG session.
Moreover, it is necessary to speed up the nomination of leaders and members of the sub groups in order to create the necessary framework for the proposal of concrete and viable projects in line with the DG Regio programmes.
