At the end of the year, we also organized a meeting with one of the most respected lawyers in Romania, Ernest Popovici, who shared his vast work experience with more than 50 law students.
2016 marked the launch of the Romanian President’s Program « Educated Romania ». Throughout the year, several debates have been organized aiming to build a public consensus over the priorities in education. The Alliance was a strong dialogue partner and participated frequently at the debates voicing its opinion.
We organized our first public Debate on the topic Danube Youth – Champions of Growth. We discussed about how to empower young generations and involve them in the societal development. We also lauched a general debate over the priorities of our Alliance for 2016.
On October 15th, the Danube Youth Alliance was officially launched in Cluj in the presence of members of the academia, public authorities and civil society. Gabriela Szabo, Minister of Youth, had accepted to become Honorary President of the Alliance.
Young People need perspectives, need to be involved in designing the future. And they need to learn being responsible. Danube Youth Alliance becomes active. Respecting our objectives of promoting a corruption-free society and the knowledge of the law among the youth, we designated in partnership with judge, Cristi Danilet, a competition that challenged the knowledge of the law for more than 50 students in Bucharest.
