Meeting of the Committee and Executive Office of the Council of Danube Cities and Regions

Bratislava, April 3-4, 2012

The meeting that took place on April 3-4, 2012 gathered members of the Council of Danube Cities and Regions at the City Museum in Bratislava and reiterated the engagement of the Council to make a significant contribution to the implementation of the EU strategy for the Danube Region as a strategic partner of the EU Commission and Committee of Regions in strengthening and fostering sustainable development in the Danube region.
In this context, the participants established the future steps to be made, namely to:

Create a training programme for qualified specialists in policy and management in the Danube Region;
Build the European Danube Youth Association in cooperation with the Young Danube Citizens Network (YDCN);
Expand the Danube Office Network, by creating a representative office in Brussels;
Create and develop communication and networking structures through a common internet platform – Danube Social Media.
