During the Romanian legislative election campaign, the Danube Youth Alliance focused on raising an important topic in the public arena : women participation in politics. Being a country where women are chronically underrepresented, Romania faces an important social challenge towards gender equality. Lacking a considerable number of female politicians translates in less inclusive public policies that disadvantage the whole society.
Consequently, have been discussed during the debate some interesting solutions, such as quotas in local and national public administration, a better quality media that would promote gender equality and most importantly a revised school program that would encourage a debate and a more inclusive environment.
