BUCHAREST, September 26, 2011
In order to support the activities resulting from the Action Plan of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania is promoting partnerships targeting the promotion and accomplishment of common goals in the framework of the Strategy.
The first event organized within the partnership with Siemens Romania, on September 26, 2011, was a roundtable discussion regarding European funding and projects implementation within the EU Strategy for the Danube Region at the General Secretariat of the Council of Danube Cities and Regions, in Bucharest.
On this occasion, the following topics were addressed:
• the cooperation opportunities at European macro-regional;
• the contribution of the private and public entities in implementing the EUSDR projects and in identifying the priority projects suitable to be managed by the private sector;
• the efficient exploitation of renewable energy sources;
• the modernization and development of the energy networks/ the implementation of the European energy programme in order to straighten/consolidate the TEN-E network;
