The Sava Cycling Tour 2013

Sava River Basin,  May 25-31, 2013

The International Sava River Basin Commission has initiated a project on development of cycling routes along the Sava River as a part of its efforts to develop river tourism in the Sava River Basin as a part of the EU Macroregional Strategy for the Danube Region. The Sava Cycling Tour 2013 is perceived as a proactive way, not only to promote the project itself, but also to disseminate the key messages connected with the celebration of the Sava River Day (June 1st). Accordingly, the Sava Day celebration this year will include the 824 km Cycling Tour from the Sava River source at Kranjska Gora (SI) crossing 4 Danube states to the confluence with the Danube river at Belgrade (RS). The Tour is planned to last eight days, including the stops (overnights) in seven cities along the river, where public events will be organized in cooperation with local communities and with media coverage.
